Richard’s Wisdom – “Anxiety and What’s Important”
Anxiety − The plague that's enveloped the US is anxiety. Anxiety can wear you out and eventually kill you (check your blood pressure). The current dismal economy has generated fear and anxiety across America. Here's what I've learned about anxiety (through many years of therapy). Some people have been anxious all their lives − they've grown so used to being anxious that they don't feel it or sense it. But believe me, it's there!
If you put yourself in a situation that produces anxiety − risky stock positions, extramarital affair, hated job, taking on a proposition that worries you − my advice is to get OUT of that situation. Do whatever you have to do to undo the situation that is causing you anxiety. If it's making you anxious, if it's keeping you awake at night, it's not worth the stress. It's not worth your health.
