Repatriation: No Matter What, Investors Win

Stocks once again began the week on a bullish note, as major averages worked their way higher throughout the session. Much of the action was driven by company-specific news and earnings, as no major economic reports were released today.

 

The Industrials, after working their way higher throughout the day, managed to close down just 13 points - the only major average to close in the red. Meanwhile, the Transports gained 0.79%, the Nasdaq climbed 0.29%, and the S&P 500 rose 0.17%. The Utilities, which have been beaten down in recent weeks, rebounded today to close up 1.02%.

 

Overseas markets enjoyed the bull as well. In Europe, Spain and the UK posted minor losses while other major markets were in the green. The Stoxx 600 climbed 0.27% on the day, though the Europe Dow fell 0.11%. Over in Asia everything was green, with Japan's Nikkei the big winner - up 0.89%. The Asia Dow finished ...
