I just returned to the UK after a somewhat grueling trip to the World Knowledge Forum in Korea, some meetings in Hong Kong and then a week in Singapore, meeting investors and business leaders.
Regarding Singapore, my last stop, I sometimes feel that when I am in these bastions of capitalism and materialism that I am witnessing Pompeii before the infamous eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. That's not to pick on Singapore - I was very optimistic about this City State back in 2006 and bought real estate there despite the protestations of many local friends who said that Singapore real estate was not a good investment.
