Reporting From Moscow

So in the face of all the news that Russia has gone rogue and Putin is the next Hitler, I made my first trip to Moscow this week as a speaker at the rAsia conference to discuss the "Future of the Global Economy." (http://www.benjaminjbutler.com/speaking.html
). It reminded me a little of my times in Seoul, South Korea, when CNN and BBC were fear mongering about an imminent North Korean attack, and we are all just going about our business (including friends who work for the US military there) and enjoying life. The disconnect between the news and reality is often quite astonishing. As I travel to different countries in the world, I am constantly reminded that most people just want to get along and get on with their lives. And as a parent now, I can see why no one really wants war. Russia seems like another such place.
