Stocks had a pretty good day today, worldwide, with the US being the least positive. Most Asian exchanges were higher, and the Asian Dow reflected that with a rise of 0.51%. In Europe things were even better, as the STOXX 600 added 0.75%.
US shares found little to get excited about, as advancing issues barely beat out decliners on the NYSE, 1495 to 1463. Economic numbers will be out over the next few days, but were mostly MIA today. Earnings are still on investors' minds, with Apple's results expected after the close but the NASDAQ Composite giving little clue to what they will be.
After bettering 6,100 during the day, the NASDAQ closed a mere 0.006% higher at 6,095. The Dow gained 0.17% at 20,950 and the S&P 500 was up 0.12% at 2,391.
