The market is in a minor correction, but none of the big thousand numbers have been violated. Industrials are above 17,000, Transports are above 8,000 and the increasingly important NASDAQ is above 5,000.
I finally overcome my morning fear. Emmet Fox says that all fear is a lack of confidence in God. I am now living one day at a time and in the present. One of the difficult things about growing old is that you tend to outlive all of your friends. My last best friend, James Salter, has died and no doubt I will meet him later on a different level.
I note that fear, horror and terror are the emotions of the day. Almost daily I receive pamphlets predicting the end of the world as we know it, and of the Dow crashing to 4,000.
