Obama's a dead duck and is already in his frayed second term? Cameron wanting to pull Britain out of the EU? US unemployment still high. Bernanke leaving when his term is up. Will the Fed pull back on QE? Will the Euro-union fall apart? Will Germany save the Euro union? There are a thousand questions and possibilities, and everyone hopes that if they can latch onto the right question or the right answer, this will tell them which way the market is going to go? Wrong!
The best guide to the direction of the stock market is a study of the market itself. Which is why I pay such close attention to the technical approach and to the background of the stock market and to the actual daily closing figures.
