The International Investor
Before I start, I perhaps should say a word about who I am. I was born in Berkshire England (at the same hospital as Princess Kate – but that’s where the similarities end!) and educated in the English countryside at Florence Nightingale’s ancestral home, Embley Park. I then went on to read law at King’s College and then Japanese and Economics at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
After my formal schooling I joined Morgan Stanley’s new graduate program in New York and spent the next decade or so working in investment banks and hedge funds. I was fortunate in that the banks permitted me to write my own musings and blogs without too much interference and I found that just calling things as you see them was very much appreciated by fund managers and Chief Investment Officers.
