The problem nobody wants to admit to is that the world is in a state of deflation. Europe is really feeling the deflation now and the European Central Bank states that it will do whatever it must to defeat deflation and bring back hopefully a mild inflation.
It appears that QE will have run itself out by December of this year. This is a situation which I am happy about since at last we will gauge the economy and the market as they actually are without benefit of Fed stimulus.
The Fed’s theory is that without QE the market is now strong enough to carry on – on its own. The stock market will tell us whether this is true, but I have my doubts.
