With the S&P pushing into record territory, bulls are greedy and bears are fearful. This brings up the question -- what's the item that is least appreciated in investing? The answer is peace of mind. Look on the medication shelves of any drugstore. What you will find -- pills for anxiety, pills for sleeplessness, pills for indigestion, pills for pain. A psychiatrist friend of mine told me that all her patients complain of sleeplessness. Nobody these days seems to have peace of mind. This is particularly true among investors.


With the stock market in its sixth year of advance, I've decided that peace of mind trumps investing. So what's the best position to provide peace of mind? My choice is a position of physical gold and silver. This is a position of pure wealth, and it should withstand deflation, inflation, or hyperinflation.
