The handwriting is on the wall -- interest rates are rising and are likely to continue to do so. The probability of a rate increase in December of this year is 95%, according to pricing in federal funds futures' contracts. That will be the third hike in 2017, following 25 basis point moves in March and June. Federal Reserve officials are projecting another three quarter-percentage point hikes in 2018, if the economy stays on track, and two more quarter-percentage hikes in 2019.
