I'll admit it, my favorite hobby is thinking (I guess reading comes in second). I've always been fascinated by ideas, and I like to ponder how the world turns and what works and what doesn't work.

 

I read eight newspapers a day, and the overwhelming impression that comes across as I read these newspapers is that the world is in a pretty chaotic state.

The presidential candidates need 270 electoral votes to win. In the unlikely event of a tie, the vote goes to the house with each state having one vote.

 

Three times in the more distant past a candidate with the largest popular vote has lost the election.

 

In 1824 Andrew Jackson was the vote leader among four presidential candidates. None of the four got an electoral majority. The election was decided in the house and John Quincy Adams won.

Richard's Thoughts ... Spotlight on the PTI, Again

My Primary Trend Index (PTI) is an amalgam of eight critical averages and indicators. Each indicator is based on the ACTION of the stock market (as opposed to sentiment indicators, monetary issues, short sales, etc.).

 

I developed the PTI in the late 1960's and early '70's for the purpose of aiding me in identifying the major or primary trend of the market.
