Equity markets once again soared to new highs today on the back of strong earnings and hints from the Trump administration that plans for lowering taxes are ahead of schedule. Gains in the U.S. came on the heels of solid performance in both Europe and Asia, where nearly every index was in the green.
At the close the Industrials are up 143 points to 20,412. The Transports climbed 0.87% while the Nasdaq and S&P 500 both rose 0.52%. Overseas, the Europe Dow was up 0.62%, the Asia Dow was up 0.57%, and the Global Dow was up 0.68%.
Bonds headed south today, with nearly every maturity falling in price. The yield on the 10-year Treasury is currently sitting at 2.43%. The dollar moved higher, it's index closing at 101 on the dot today.
Amid all the positivity in equity markets, precious metals slumped lower. Gold fell $10, silver lost 11 cents and platinum declined $11.
