EVOLUTION can be one of those tricky topics. There are no serious doubts in the scientific community about the fact that plants and animals (including humans) evolved over countless millennia. Similarly, the vast majority of Jews and Christians, including Christianity’s nominal leader (or at the least a key leader of the Christian world), the Pope, see no conflict between the facts of evolution and the often metaphorical teachings of the Bible. Among the world’s other major religions, the facts of evolution generally don’t seem to present a huge problem, with certain exceptions, such as the millions of (mostly American) fundamentalists still fighting the battle of “science vs. religion.”
The investments world reminds me of this concept, as it seems that some of the old rules have morphed and some of our animals have evolved. Mostly I’m thinking here of the old adage that, “Bulls make money, Bears make money, but Pigs get slaughtered.” For ... Log in or subscribe to continue reading.
