The Dow, as it opens today, is 138 points below its 2007 record high. What in the devil is wrong or is holding it back? It occurred to me that in the way the market is going, in another 200 sessions the Dow should be at a new record high -- or is the stock market playing games with us? As I see it, at the current rate, the Dow may never make it to a new record high. And if it never makes it to a new high -- then what? Then we'll be back where we started a few months ago -- we'll still be dealing with a new high in the Transports -- unconfirmed by the Dow.
