A Financial Times journalist wrote:

It is not true that humanity cannot learn from history. It can and, in the case of the lessons of the dark period between 1914 and 1945, the west did. But it seems to have forgotten those lessons.

New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year!

  

I was pondering New Year's resolutions this week. I kind of cheat because I celebrate both the Solar New Year (what we celebrate in the West) and the Lunar New Year (which China, Korea and some other Asian nations follow). The solar New Year gets me thinking but I really consider my year kicking off a month later. This gives me a transition period in which to ponder.
